Sounds like you guys are having a great trip.
Planning to spend any time in the Boston area? We were just out there, and there is TONS of stuff to do within walking distance of the water. We got everywhere for our week without a car. The MTA is great. Not sure if any anchorages are near Boston proper, but it’s really worth exploring. The harbor is full of islands to explore. We spent two days just on the Freedom Trail alone. USS Constitution is docked at the old Charleston Naval Yard, and is definitely worth a stop. While on board, I bought a US flag from the CPO on watch, got to run it up the yardarm, then take it home as my souvenier of Old Ironsides. I think a US flag flown on the oldest still commissioned navy ship in the world would be a fine addition to the Ryanna! We also dumped tea into Boston harbor, listened to the Declaration read aloud from the balcony it was read from in 1776, and lots of other Rev War stuff that made things come alive for all three of us. And now that Zoya has seen Harvard Yard, setting for Reese Witherspoon’s “Legally Blonde” (one of her fav flicks), she’s now talking about Ivy League schools! Freedom of speech stuff at South Meeting House was inspiring. And for more modern history, the JFK Presidential Library on UMass campus really made the Cold War come alive. Glad you’re posting more.. I really enjoy hearing about your adventures. Paraphrasing Roy Rogers.. “Happy sails to you, until we meet again…”

Good to hear from you and glad to hear all is well with you, Linda and Zoya. Had a long conversation with Sanjeev last night, whenever we make it back to the Bay I’ll have to set up a lunch with the old gang.
Right now were in Newport, RI enjoying the history from pre-revolutionary to the Gilded Age and were sticking around through the weekend for the Newport Folk Music Festival. We’ll likely be in Boston in the next week or two, depending how much time we spend in Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket. Thanks for the tourism tips, your flag idea sounds great.
